We tried the DPV Tione shoes
We tried the DPV Tione shoes, a new model of the DPV brand by Deporvillage.
The DPV Tione shoes are designed for the beginner cyclist or for those who enjoy cycling at an amateur level. The range in which they are in, in fact, is the beginner’s range.
However, it should be noted that this does not mean that it is a product created with little care or without adequate attention to the most important details. Not in this case.
The test was carried out during a flat outing of what we could describe as one of those rides to clear your head and de-stress. Three hours on the bike, without giving too much effort, just riding around to stretch your legs.
The first impression
Just by holding the DPV Tione we realised that lightness is one of their main features. When we put them on, we immediately noticed how comfortable the shoes were. As far as feeling goes, it’s a bit like wearing that pair of shoes that you’ve been wearing for years which have already been perfectly moulded to the shape of your foot. This is due to the conformation of the sole, but above all, to the closure with the three Velcro straps and the upper made of microfiber that ensure that the foot is completely wrapped.
Obviously, the rigidity is not comparable to that of a top-level shoe, but the placement of the Velcro straps ensures that the shoe fits very well to the foot and the cyclist has the feeling that their force is transferred extremely well to the cranks. In the first few moments of pedalling, when you´re just setting off, this sensation is quickly confirmed.
Strengths
It’s on the long, flat stretches that DPV Tione gives it their best. Thanks to fresh air, which makes us have to wear a windproof vest, pedalling is really relaxed.
However, it is the details that make the DPV Tione shoes better than the ones in the same beginners category. The mesh inserts, aided by an air inlet under the sole, ensure perfect temperature regulation.
Also, in terms of the sole, the cleats placed in the heel and the toe allow you to walk with agility and safety.
In addition, the heel has a reflective insert that is perfect for increasing the visibility of the cyclist, which is so important for safety on our outings.
