We tried the DPV Caleus shoes
We tried the DPV Caleusshoes, the most outstanding model in the new DPV footwear range.
The test was carried out on a fairly diverse course, in order to test the quality of the product in as many circumstances as possible in which we cyclists like to ride.

Review
DPV has recently introduced a line of shoes, complementing the already wide range of products for two-wheelers.
The DPV Caleus are positioned as mid-range shoes, but if you have time to read this post, you will understand that they actually have features and offer a definitely superior performance.
Weighing less than 280g, as soon as you hold them in your hand you can feel their lightness. As far as aesthetics are concerned, which is always important, in this case you don’t need to put them on to realise that the Caleus are beautiful and elegant: in our test we tried the white version and, as the photos show, a white sock is enough to highlight their elegance.
The fit
First of all, it is important to point out that DPV’s Caleus keep their promises in terms of size: the foot on which they were tested was just over 27 centimetres long, and the 27.6 centimetres of the 43 are perfect. We mean that a 43 is indeed a 43. Which, in our opinion, is essential for a product sold on-line.
Comfort and performance
Even after the first few pedals, the Caleus DPV shoe is perceived as rigid and transfers power very well to the pedals without sacrificing comfort. This is due to a mixture of choices that have been made precisely for this purpose. Which ones? We’ll tell you about them later on.
First of all, the sole is neither too wide nor too narrow. It’s perfect.
For its part, the instep zone, made of microfiber and without seams, wraps the foot very well in all its parts, but in addition, the side support ensures that the foot itself remains very firm, especially when you get on the pedals and get going.
Finally, the support system contributes to this mix of comfort and performance: the micro-adjustable rotor and Velcro strap are the perfect combination for a shoe in this range. A few more words about the rotor, which is micro-adjustable during closing, to ensure a customised adjustment to the millimetre, but at the end of your outing, all you have to do is turn it slightly counter-clockwise and the shoe unlocks and opens completely. Really comfortable to take off your shoes at the end of your outing.
Breathability
In our opinion, a good shoe must be breathable: first so that it does not suffer too much heat, and then so that it does not create bad odors due to sweat. The fact that the tongue and upper of the shoe are micro-perforated makes them perfect for this need. But there is something else, there is also an air inlet in the sole, to ensure better thermoregulation.
The sole
The DPV Caleus nylon sole does not at all make you regret not having chosen a shoe with a carbon sole (more beautiful and expensive). As we have already said, the rigidity is not compromised in any way; on the contrary, it can be clearly perceived that the force is transferred perfectly to the pedals
No problem if you want to go into the bar for a coffee or if you have to take a walk: the two heels and toe blocks make walking easy and safe.
Made for who?
Clean and elegant design, comfort and performance: the DPV Caleus is the perfect shoe for everyone. Training, Granfondo, circuit racing, long races: with the DPV Caleus you can really do everything. It is virtually impossible to find a better mid-range shoe for this price. Definitely recommended.
