We tested the ASICS GEL-Pulse 11 running shoes

We tested the ASICS GEL-Pulse 11 on fast workouts on asphalt, forest trails and the running track, as well as relaxed runs on these surfaces.

The first sensations when putting on the shoes are of comfort and reactivity thanks to the AmpliFoam technology that covers the entire surface of the shoe. This technology, together with the gel, makes this shoe ideal for those who take their running technique seriously, as well as the impact on their joints.

1. Features

The shoes GEL-Pulse 11 combine lightness and cushioning, achieving more than remarkable running comfort. In this sense, the lightness comes from a minimalist design with a very-well ventilated and seamless upper that fits perfectly to our foot.

Likewise, and on the other hand, the comfort also comes from a very-well worked midsole that provides comfort that is definitely a defining feature, with an optimal propulsion/durability ratio thanks to the AMPLIFOAM™ technology and the gel that gives us extra comfort and a plus of stability to protect our joints (thanks to the GEL ™ technology) and that I would highlight as the top characteristics of these shoes.

As for the interior of the shoe, we see the quality of the finishes (especially the lack of seams) as well as an Ortholite ™ brand insole, known for its comfort and quality of the materials used.

It is also interesting to note that the outsole rubber is formed by a set of hexagonal lugs that improve the grip on wet terrains.

It should be said that this is not a competition shoe, but an ideal shoe for those with an average weight who train regularly and are looking for comfort, but emphasising that the shoes encourage you to run, and this is due to the way the shoe is designed with the drop of the shoe.

2. Feelings

Although, as we said, this is not a shoe we can categorise as a competition shoe, we were pleasantly surprised by its reactivity and comfort at fast paces, even at paces under 4:00 min/km for about an hour. This is due to the aforementioned technologies and additionally to the Guidance Trusstic and Guidance Line Technology.

The first technology improves stride efficiency while providing structural integrity to the midfoot and the second technology is a flexible vertical groove guidance line along the line of progression of the outsole that helps us to have a more efficient stride.

So, we see that we have a pair of shoes in front of us that can eat up those miles, with or without a competition bib.

3. Conclusions

In summary, the ASICS GEL-Pulse 11 are a very good option for training, as well as to compete in races of average and even long distance if we are light runners.

The excellent cushioning and comfort are a big plus, as well as some very well-thought-out finishes.

If you have particularly wide toes, they may not be the right choice for you as they are tight-fitting shoes.
