We test the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 26 shoes
ASICS has recently launched its new version of the GEL-KAYANO shoes, a pair of the most iconic shoes from the Japanese brand. The ASICS road running shoe that offers a perfect combination of stability and lightness. Now, its new model of shoes is even lighter than the previous version, managing still and so, not to subtract the comfort and the stability that characterise them.
In the last training sessions we have been able to test them, using them for soft runs, series and interval training, both on asphalt and mixed terrain. During these tests, we have been able to verify that they provide a high level of control in the stride, offering security in each stride.
1. Technology
The ASICS GEL-KAYANO 26 shoes feature a variety of technologies for comfort and support. In the midsole, the shoe consists of the Japanese brand’s iconic GEL® technology that aids in shock absorption, along with ASICS FLYTEFOAM PROPEL technology, which provides superior energy return and improves comfort, making it an ideal shoe for running any kind of distance.
More features would be the GUIDANCE TRUSSTIC technology. It is located under the bridge, providing stability and maintaining the structural integrity of the shoe. It also features a redesigned upper mesh upper to make it more breathable and cooler.
It is also worth mentioning that we have tested the women’s model, which has 3mm more drop, being 13 mm and 10 mm for men (in the case of women, the objective is to better unload the Achilles tendon).
2. Put to the test
We had the opportunity to test the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 26 during several training sessions, running smoothly, doing interval training and short series.
It is the ASICS shoe par excellence to provide you with maximum comfort, exceptional support and stability on your outings. It reduces the impact of each step on the joints and provides protection, avoiding the risk of injury.
They are ideal shoes for pronator runners and they combine perfectly on asphalt terrains, although they also adapt well on flat and mixed terrains. Being a more compact and stable shoe than any other flying shoe, it is suitable for light running and medium/long distance competitions.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that the material incorporated in the sole (AHAR), makes it highly durable, allowing the runner to use them for more than one running season.
3. Conclusions
The ASICS GEL-KAYANO 26 shoes are stable, highly cushioned and a leader in stability. They provide protection in each stride, allowing you to run any kind of distances on asphalt with a high comfort, being the same very durable and therefore the winning shoe in marathon distances. Perfect for pronator runners or neutral runners who tend to pronate with the passage of kilometres due to accumulated fatigue.
This season we can find them in several revolutionary colours, for women we present purple and blue, black and blue and black white, as well as red and yellow (colour of the product test). For men: black and blue, blue and yellow, grey black and black.
In conclusion, ASICS GEL-KAYANO 26 are very technologically complete shoes.
