The Marató de Barcelona, the Deporvillage Transpyr Coast to Coast and the Deporvillage Tritour Triathlon League all bear the deporvillage seal
deporvillage, the store specialising in cycling, running and outdoor sports, is supporting outdoor sports by sponsoring three major sporting events throughout 2023: the Barcelona Marathon, the Deporvillage Transpyr Coast to Coast and the Deporvillage Tritour Triathlon league.
Barcelona Marathon
Thus, on 19 March, deporvillage inaugurated its sponsorship season with the Zurich Marató de Barcelona, which celebrated its 44th edition. The race brought more than 15,000 runners from all over the world to run through the streets of the city under the slogan #barcelonabeats. In addition, the time records of previous years were broken in both the men’s and women’s categories.
deporvillage was present at the Runner’s Fair, where deporvillage had a space where it offered various activities to visitors to its stand.
Deporvillage Transpyr Coast to Coast
The Deporvillage Transpyr Coast to Coast, which this year celebrated its 13th edition between the 11th and 17th of June, sets out the challenge of joining two seas by bicycle crossing the Pyrenees, which makes it, without doubt, one of the most demanding, exciting and epic challenges in the world of cycling.
Thus, the cyclists who joined this mission had seven days to link the starting point in Saint Jean de Luz with the town of Roses. The Grand Raid MTB option, with 750km and 18,000m of positive slope, runs along mountain roads and trails; the Backroads, with 1,000km and 20,000m of positive slope for road cycling enthusiasts, and the E-Transpyr C2C, which follows the same route as the Grand Raid and is aimed at electric bicycle users.
For this reason, this event means that the participants will have to face seven consecutive days of long and very tough stages through the mythical mountain passes and landscapes of the Spanish mountain range. In addition, the time limits set by the organisers make the race even tougher, forcing the cyclists to keep up their pace at all times. This is why the physical preparation required by the participants is so high and many of them have spent months working specifically to overcome this amazing feat. The load is not only physical but also psychological, as it involves long days on the bike.
In the last stage, deporvillage had several activities at the finish line, among them, printing the “finisher” stamps on the jerseys of the cyclists who crossed the finish line.
Another of this year’s sponsored events, was the Deporvillage Tritour 2023which began on the 15th of April and will end on the 16th of September, an exciting circuit of triathlons in league format, born from the union of four of the most spectacular triathlons scattered throughout Catalonia: Deltebre, Amposta, El Pont de Suert and Tossa de Mar.
The different races of the Deporvillage Tritour circuit, which have had more than 3,000 participants in each of their previous editions, are adapted to all types of triathletes, offering a wide variety of disciplines in each case: Sprint, Olympic, Short and Half. In addition, for each of the modalities, athletes will be able to choose between individual and relay participation in which three triathletes join together in groups to compete each in the segment in which they excel the most.
The Deporvillage Tritour also features the Club League with which it wants to reward the presence of the clubs in its events. Focused on the Half distance, it has fantastic cash prizes for the top three finishers of the League, both in the women’s and men’s categories. The aim of the Club League is to reward the clubs that achieve the highest score in 3 of the 4 events of the circuit, providing a minimum of 3 representatives for the men’s and women’s leagues and with a minimum of 5 members in total in each event.
