The (r)evolution of Orca wetsuits: Say hello to Apex and Athlex

The Apex and Athlex ranges, designed on the basis of ORCA’s commitment to innovation. An evolution of their previous collection, in which they make more meaningful use of technology, based on science and decades of experience.

Orca has presented its new 2022 collection focused on achieving maximum performance for triathletes. True to its commitment to innovation and the use of technology and the best materials, Orca has revolutionised its previous collection, with more advanced wetsuits for its flagship models Predator, Alpha, 3.8, Sonar, Equip and S7, which are now history.

Apex and Athlex represent a new era of triathlon wetsuits, models focused on the pure performance of triathletes.

Two ranges and three models for each

Orca’s goal with this 2022 collection is to offer the most suitable wetsuit for every sporting need of the triathlete, as well as to adjust the price to the athlete’s needs. So, in the new range of triathlon wetsuits, you can choose between flexibility, buoyancy or a combination of both. Orca wetsuits are 100% made using Yamamoto neoprene, a neoprene that has unrivalled performance with unique stretch, buoyancy and hydrodynamic properties.

On the one hand, the APEX range is the top of the range, aimed at expert triathletes looking for maximum performance. Equivalent to the previous Alpha, Predator and Enduro 3.8 models.

On the other hand, the ATHLEX range meets the needs of athletes who are just starting out in the world of triathlon. Equivalent to the previous Equip, Sonar and S7.

But, in addition, within each of the ranges there are three families that respond to the needs of each type of swimmer:

  • Flow: For beginner swimmers looking for a garment to help correct technique and maintain buoyancy. This range aims for maximum buoyancy in the lower torso to help with the technical shortcomings of kicking and maximum flexibility in the upper torso to offer maximum freedom of movement. Equivalent to the previous Predator and Sonar.
  • Flex: for swimmers who want maximum flexibility and freedom of movement. Ideal for triathletes who have mastered the technique perfectly and who maintain a correct position in the water (horizontal and proper). This family offers you freedom in every stroke. Equivalent to the previous Alpha and Equip.
  • Float: perfect for swimmers looking for maximum buoyancy, it will help them to maintain a high position in the water and a comfortable and hydrodynamic posture for longer. Equivalent to the previous 3.8 and S7.
