Finisseur Pro Thermal Jacket
The Finisseur Pro Thermal jacket in this test is one of the most comfortable and warmest garments from the brand that we have been able to try out this season. A close-fitting jacket with excellent thermal properties for your winter rides, both mountain biking and road cycling.
Warm and snug-fitting
Like the other garments in the Finisseur Pro family, this jacket has a slim fit. It is designed for those looking for a winter jacket that fits close to the body while allowing freedom of movement and good aerodynamic performance.
But in addition to the way it fits our anatomy, we must highlight the great fit of the cuffs and collar, with a certain profile, which prevents air from entering through these areas inside the garment. The interior is also made of fleece or plush fabric, something that contributes in a very decisive way to the good sensations that the jacket transmits. It feels warm and very pleasant to the touch thanks to the plush that is maintained throughout the garment.
In fact, although there are specific jackets for even lower temperatures than the ones we rode with them, this Pro Thermal feels like it provides excellent warmth, even superior when compared to other models.
This plush feel is all over the inside of the jacket, from the sleeves, the back, the collar and, of course, the torso area. All this generates a hot air pocket that gives a great feeling of warmth.
For the water
In addition to the inner fabric to protect us from the cold, this Pro Thermal has some water and wind protection. This is due to the Zero Wind membrane that lines the jacket and to tell the truth, we didn’t notice it affecting breathability too much, for example. If we go to the numbers, the manufacturer announces a resistance of up to 8,000 mm of water column and a temperature range of use of this jacket that goes between 6 and 12ºC.
Comfort first and foremost
We are in a quality garment and it shows. The feel of the fabric, the finishes of the collar or the zipper and the body of the fabric envelop us and provide a very good experience of use.
This garment is so comfortable that we think it is highly recommended for users addicted to long distances, to be done in winter, of course. Hours go by and you only notice that you are wearing it because you feel at a good temperature in your body, with comfort, without sewing tensions or areas where the cold winter air enters.
On the move
As we have said, what we would highlight the most about this jacket is its comfort, despite being a tight fit, in other brands a tight jacket is synonymous with discomfort or at least not the same comfort as the more relaxed patterned jackets.
It is perfect to wear with a thermal undergarment underneath. Two layers that we think are more than enough for rainy and windy days. In our case we have ridden in temperatures around 5ºC with excellent sensations from this jacket.
The access to the back pockets is good, maybe they are a bit narrow if you want to carry a large object on your back. What we do miss is a rubber band in the opening of the pocket, because in use for mountain biking, your things can easily slip out of the pocket due to the bumps and movements of this discipline. But even the back part of the jacket is comfortable, in this case because of its downward extension, which covers a good part of the kidneys and gives us a more enveloping feeling on cold days.
This jacket is also available at a very affordable price considering the thermal jacket market. It is therefore excellent value for money.
