Finisseur Pro Rainproof Jacket

The apparent simplicity of this Finisseur Pro Rainproof jacket is hiding one of the most practical and technical garments in the manufacturer’s catalogue. This is a jacket for use specifically in rain or high humidity that gives us an excellent feeling whilst wearing it. We’ll tell you why

Ultra-light

It was as soon as I took the garment out of its packaging and noticed that it was as light as a feather. Both its fabric and the membrane it uses to protect us from the rain are very light. On the other hand, the jacket has hardly any elements that warrant criticism. Having only one back pocket, no large structures on the cuffs or collar, for example, contribute even more to the physical and visual lightness of the garment. This circumstance makes putting it on a whole experience. A jacket that really keeps us safe from the water and provides some warmth while being so thin and unnoticeable.

Very technical

The membrane used by Finisseur in the Pro Rainproof is waterproof and hydrophilic, and is called Zero Wind. It is amazingly waterproof and water repellent. We have tested it, even under a running tap and the water never soaks into the fabric, because it simply runs over it and is drained away. Its effectiveness is therefore maximum against rain. The construction of the jacket is also heat-sealed, which further contributes to waterproofing and ensuring that you won’t get wet when it rains on your rides.

Pattern Fit

As you would expect from a garment of this type, the Pro Rainproof is a fairly close-fitting jacket. It would be wrong for such a garment to be baggy and create air spaces or creases. It is a garment to use in cool temperatures, but moderate, between 10 and 20ºC according to the manufacturer and with not too many clothes underneath, due to the tightness of its pattern.

The feeling of not wearing it

As we have already mentioned, its extreme lightness and simplicity in the structure gives a really nice feeling when wearing it. It is perfectly made and does not produce tension in any area of our body. It is true that it is not as breathable as a conventional jacket, but this is logical, as it is a garment whose fabric must prevent the passage of water. In this type of jacket, you always sacrifice some ventilation. In any case, it’s nothing to worry about, nor does it affect our performance or sensations on the bike. Especially if we take into account that when it rains, it is not usually hot, so we will not feel any sensation of suffocation typical of non-breathable garments.

The freedom of movement it allows us is total, and the protection against water is one of the best we have tested.

We like the details of how it has been thermosealed with a flap that covers the entire zipper or with a double elastic at the cuffs that ensures that no water or wind can enter the inside of the garment.

Who it is for?

For demanding cyclists looking for an effective, lightweight and very comfortable waterproof jacket. Willing to make a good investment to stop getting wet when it rains.
