For those who are looking for a comfortable garment for cycling, but want more versatility than traditional lycra bib shorts, Finisseur offers the Pro MTB shorts that we have had the opportunity to test. Specific cycling shorts for recreational use but also for hiking, trail or Enduro riding.

Versatility

These shorts consist of two pieces designed to be used together, although it is true that they could also be used separately. On the one hand, we have the shorts themselves. Made with three specific fabrics that offer a distinct feel and performance. The back of the trousers is more elastic to facilitate movement, and the leg area is thinner and more breathable to help heat evacuation and the crotch and waist area have inserts to improve comfort.

The second piece is a lycra pant or bib shorts that contains the chamois and allows the chamois to stay tight and always well positioned. These inner shorts are easily and conveniently attached to the outer and main trousers by means of buttons that fasten into eyelets.

The truth is that due to its image and features, this garment is as good for a bike ride as it is for getting off the bike and going for a walk, as its shorts aesthetic does not clash if you have to wear it while you are not riding your bike. This makes the Finisseur Pro MTB in shorts format a very versatile garment and therefore a great option for a large number of cyclists.

Double sensation

Although the outer pant is loose fitting and gives a remarkable feeling of freedom of movement, the inner lycra bib shorts still offer the traditional compression of lycra, although it compresses a little less than a conventional bib shorts.

The outer garment not only gives us a more casual look, but also offers us more protection against abrasions and falls than if we were wearing lycra bib shorts, as its fabrics are more resistant. It also allows us to carry any additional object that bin shorts do not allow, as it has two zippered pockets, one per leg.

The shorts are adjusted by means of a button at the waist, although they have elastic panels to adapt even better to all anatomies. We have already mentioned that the back of the pants has a more elastic fabric so that the garment fits better, but so that it does not hinder our movements and interaction against the saddle, something that we have experienced that works.

The two side pockets are more than generous and close with a zipper, a must if you want to ride with them and not lose any objects or spare parts you carry in them.

The mesh panel that the garment has in the lumbar area to better evacuate the temperature in this body region is to be appreciated.

On the move

With these trousers and inner shorts on, you feel comfortable and don’t mind the aerodynamics. The outer garment did not restrict our movements, on the contrary, it adapts perfectly to the body even if it is not made of lycra. The bib shorts or inner piece has a very particular chamois, the MTB Trail MEN HYBRID with a multidirectional curvature that seems to distribute the pressure of our weight and the truth is that it feels very comfortable. Despite being a strapless bib shorts, the lycra stays close to the body and you don’t feel like you’re wearing a garment that moves. The quality of the fabrics is good and the absorption of the chamois is excellent, on a par with the highest quality traditional bib shorts.
