Deporvillage TriTour Pont de Suert: The Pyrenees Triathlon

On the 9th and 10th of July the triathlon festival returns to the Pyrenees with the celebration of the Deporvillage TriTour El Pont de Suert.

A triathlon that stands out for the beauty of the landscapes in which the swimming, cycling and running circuits of the four races will take place: Sprint, Olympic, Short and Half.

On this occasion, the triathletes will be able to swim in the waters of the Escales reservoir, surrounded by mountains close to 2,000 metres; run along the winding roads around the Parc Nacional d’Aigüestortes with views of the Aneto peak and the Boí Taüll ski resort; and run along the slopes of the Noguera Ribagorçana river, crossing it on fun footbridges.

Once again, the Deporvillage TriTour Pont de Suert becomes the National Championship of Catalonia in the Olympic distance triathlon (1500 m swimming + 40 km cycling + 10 km running). The best Catalan triathlete will be decided on Saturday. The event has more than 500 athletes ready to fight to prove that they deserve this title. On the same Saturday, the Sprint distance race (750 m swimming + 20 km cycling + 5 km running) will also take place.

On Sunday, for the first time, the Pyrenees Triathlon will offer half-distance races with the Short (950 m swim + 57 km cycling + 10 km running) and Half (1900 m swim + 86 km cycling + 20 km running) circuits. Both races will have a spectacular cycling circuit with 2 and 3 climbs respectively to a first class pass: the Port de la Creu de Perves, which turns this half-mountain triathlon into a cycling spectacle.

The four races are expected to welcome more than 1,200 triathletes who will enjoy the beauty of nature in the outskirts of the Parc Nacional d’Aigüestortes. The organisers are also expecting a large audience, taking advantage of the great tourist attraction of the area.
